Salt Lake Trip

Penny and I went to Salt Lake for the weekend to meet up with my awesome sister Jandi. Jandi lives in a remote location also known as Ely, Nevada. Therefore, she has limited shopping opportunities. We made the most of our time together. We shopped (my first IKEA experience), went to lunch (Olive Garden, sister tradition), shopped more, went swimming, and went to Temple Square. And we did it all in 1 day.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was swimming. (Penny didn't really swim, she hung out in her bouncer.) As a mom I've learned that once you have kids that are old enough to get in the water you no longer get to swim, you hold kids. (Which is great, don't get me wrong). But Jandi and I both enjoyed the freedom to actually swim. Technically Jandi was still holding a kid since she is like 19 weeks pregnant but she could still use her arms.

Jandi and I at Temple Square. It was late like 7:30pm but
we still saw at least 4 brides and we saw a couple get engaged.

Heading to the swimming pool. I know this picture is awesome with the flash.

Penny at 4 months

The lady is four months old already. She weighed in at 11lbs. 2oz (2.5%) and 23 3/4 inches (20%). She is a healthy and happy little girl. Lately she loves to play with her plastic rings and watch her brother run around. Graham loves to snuggle Penny Bo.

Here she is with her first pony tail.
She even got a river outing in a few weekends ago.

A haircut worth a thousand pictures

We let Graham's hair grow and grow and grow this summer. Finally, it was time to cut it. You would think when taking before and after haircut pictures you would end up with two pictures. A before picture and an after picture. By the time we were done I looked and we had taken 36 pictures! Are you kidding me?! This new camera is going to be the death of me. I was able to narrow it down to a few pictures from start to finish.

Lately when we tell him to smile he opens his mouth huge and makes a yelling face. Crazy!

The Piano

Ryan started a website called stayweirdboise.com. One of his ideas to promote the website was to buy a piano ($25 on craigslist thank you very much), paint it and make it cool then drop it off on a patio downtown as a public piano. We worked on it for a week and dropped it off last night at Aspen Leaf Yogurt. The yogurt shop was very excited to be the host for this awesome piano.

And the crowds have gone wild! I guess last night there ended up being a little mini concert by the piano including dancing. Within minutes of setting it up a guy rode by on his bike, did a double take, turned around and sat down and played for an hour.

Ryan just did an interview with one of the new stations about it.We are going down tonight. I can't wait to see it in action. Here are some piano transformation pictures...

Chalk for the sides, back and under the keys.

I'm all about the personal touches. I just had to have their little hands and feet somewhere on it.

He is sad that the piano is no longer in the garage but he is pretty excited to go see it downtown tonight.

p.s. check out the website. www.stayweirdboise.com
