Visit from the Ludwigs

My sister Jandi and her husband Kenny and baby Myles were able to come visit a few weeks ago from Walla Walla. We had fun showing them the sites of Boise. We took them to the most important attractions in Boise including, the Boise Pride Festival, (by accident rather than by choice) the river, and of course the Boise State stadium.

We don't party like we used to

Now that Tess is almost 6 months pregnant, we don't party quite like we used to. We party twice as much as before. This year for the Fourth we partied it up downtown in Ann Morrison Park where they do fireworks. We threw on our unbelievably comfortable fold up chairs that turn into backpacks (as shown below in Tess's picture), drove downtown, parked the car in our secret parking spot, walked the quarter mile or so to the park, found a spot just 30 ft back from the rope and set up camp. Five minutes later, the fireworks started. We've gone the last couple of years and we like it a lot. Every year we get front row seats and it feels like the fireworks are right above you. After the show we walked up to the train depot with our chairbackpacks and took a few pics.

If you ever want to see interesting people, go to the train depot around midnight. There was an old couple breaking all the rules of PDA, a man wearing killer American Flag hammer pants, and in years past I've run into grown men howling like wearwolves at the moon. You never leave disappointed.

Here's the chairbackpack I've been raving about. It has even got a can holder. Oh, and it has four different reclining positions. We're thinking about sending this pic in to the chairbackpack company so they can use it as a catalog picture. I told you we don't party like we used to.

Happy 38 years!

My mom and dad have been married for 38 years today. Happy Anniversary! And thanks for being such great examples.

Old favorite

I've decided to resurrect and old post that happens to be one of my favorite. It is a post from our old blog on Vox. A lot of you may not have seen it because we didn't link up with a lot of people on that blog. The post is from May 21st, 2008. Enjoy:

PRANKING THE NEIGHBORS

So the elections for county commissioner are coming up soon here in Rexburg and today someone came around and hung little fliers for one of the candidates on all the doors in our apartment complex. Naturally, I threw ours away. But then, a few hours later after I had some time to clear my mind, I realized that I could probably do something with it. I removed it from its plastic grave and took it over to the computer. From there I typed the words "I do not eat babies, and that's a promise", into a word document. Next, I positioned the flier into my printer and pushed print. The end result was a new and improved flier that said in bold letters across the top "I do not eat babies, and that's a promise!" I took the new flier and brought it down to our downstairs neighbors, whose original flier was still hanging on their door. I quickly replaced theirs with mine. Now we just have to wait and see if they notice it.

Wednesday Nights

A typical Wednesday night at my parents' house.

Ok, so there was a work party with people from my dad's work and a couple of partygoers snuck in their own beverages. I don't think my parents even realized the drinks were alcoholic.

Walla Walla Trip

My sister Jandi and her husband Kenny and their little boy Myles moved to Walla Walla, WA over Memorial Day. We were lucky enough to be able to go visit for a few days while they moved in. We had so much fun unpacking, playing games, watching movies and just hanging out.

Here they are at their new house.

Myles is a smiley little guy but sometimes it's hard to catch it in pictures. I was able to catch this little smirk just at the right time.

Ryan and Myles got to meet for the first time this weekend. They got off to a great start. Myles just kept smiling and giggling at us. We like to think he was really excited to see us and finally meet Ryan but it might have also been the baby Tylenol he was on for his teeth.

Yep, here I am again at 19 weeks. I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow. A great part of the Walla trip for me was getting all of Jandi's pregnant clothes, hooray clothes that won't feel tight...yet.

Growing...

Here are our growing plants... We planted a garden and are having so much fun taking care of it. This is a picture of our watermelons and jalapenos. We are also growing peas, banana peppers, cantaloupe, and flowers. Our biggest problem so far has been sneaky squirrels dumping over our containers.

Guess what else is growing... I am.

This picture is of me at 16 weeks, I am 18 weeks now but I look almost the same as this picture. We find out if we are having a boy or a girl on June 8th!

A couple weeks ago we had our 3 year anniversary! We went to Wingers and had a romantic evening watching The Biggest Loser Finale. It was a fun day, and has been a great 3 years.
