A baby shower surprise

The morning of my baby shower the doorbell rang and I found this note sitting on top of a car seat with a baby in it.

Here is little Zac my nephew that came all the way from California with his momma, my sister, Ylfe for the baby shower. We were really excited because we hadn't met Zac yet since he was born in April and we hadn't seen Ylfe in a long time either.

My sister Jandi and her 9month old Myles, me and my belly, Ylfe and her 6month old Zac.

I have to give a big thanks to Ylfe and Jandi for coming out for the shower. And a big thanks to my sisters in law Megan and Jamie for putting on the baby shower. It was a ton of fun!

Garden update

The garden is coming to a close. For our first year we felt like we had pretty good success. Our best growers were the tomatoes by far. We still have peppers, pumpkins, tomatoes, watermelon, and cantaloupe growing. Even though that sounds like a lot to me the garden looks really bare without the corn. We took out the corn and a lot of unnecessary pumpkin vines this week. These picture are from a few weeks ago so you can still see the full and complete look of the garden. We loved working in the garden this summer but it has gotten a little more exhausting for me the last few weeks watering, so I'm glad it's winding down.

Our harvest: tomatoes, banana peppers, corn and watermelon. The watermelon was still really white inside and only a little pink but we still have many in the garden yet to try.

Our tiny cantaloupe. It smelled like a cantaloupe but there wasn't much melon to eat to even tell if it tasted like a cantaloupe. But it was still so cute and little.

Oregon in a day

After the wedding in Washington we were able to swing down to Oregon for a day and a half. It was so fun to see the family. My sister Krystal didn't know we were coming so it was extra fun to surprise her on her doorstep. We also got to be there for our niece Etta's 2nd birthday. Even though it was a short trip it was lots of fun, we love seeing family!

A wonderful wedding!

Ryan and I were able to go to the wedding of my first roommate ever and wonderful friend Lindsey Clement, now Lindsey Giles in the Columbia River Temple. Lindsey and Thomas looked so happy, I was so glad we got to be there.

Lindsey, Brittani and I hadn't all been together since my bridal shower three and a half years ago. Since then I have gotten super pregnant and they have both gone on missions. These girls are my best college friends. I loved seeing them and being in the temple with them and seeing how happy and fun their lives are.

Let the football season begin

Well the Boise State football season is in full swing. Here is a picture of Ryan and I compliments of Brooklyn before the Boise State Oregon game. Ryan had a great time spending the afternoon, evening and night in line to get in the stadium and finally getting in to watch the game. And I had a great time watching the game at home and sewing the binding on a quilt.

Brooklyn spent most of the morning following Ryan around helping him get ready. She was totally convinced that she was going to the game with him. She even said, "Well, it looks like we are ready to go." But in the end she was content to wave with me on the sidewalk as Ryan drove away.

Our Private Air Show

About a month ago I met a few guys from the Oregon Air Guard while working a booth for The Blue Mag at Boise Beerfest. They are great guys and they're temporarily stationed in Boise with their F-15's while their base in Klamath Falls, OR is undergoing repairs. They invited me to come out with a few people and take a tour of the hanger and watch
the jets take off. It was awesome. We got to stand on the taxi runway and watch as the jets took off only a few hundred feet away! Afterwards we got to tour the hanger where they repair the jets. There were a few jets inside and we even got to walk around on top of one. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

They also got us special clearance to take pics, so here's a few of the pictures and videos we took. Enjoy!

Brayden did a quick mechanical check and then gave them the go ahead.

We were told not to cross the red line. There were security trucks on both sides of the runway
just waiting to shoot us if we did.

Brooklyn loved it.
