Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Sometimes I long for the days of cameras with film. I know, I'm an old soul. Tonight I started to think about childhood pictures and how they are so special to me because they show so much "in the moment" type stuff. So tonight I decided I wanted to take one picture of the kids in their Halloween get up and call it good. I knew I wouldn't be able to take just one, but I wanted to try.
Here is our one shot. Classic, no one is looking at the camera.
Graham was Michael Jordan
I justified taking a few more pictures since trick or treaters came to the door during our "one shot".
Penny was a penny.
Graham and his friend Ashlyn hitting up the houses.

Graham got super nervous when someone opened the door wearing a mask. He lost it, and ran and buried his face in my friend's legs. But getting more candy is apparently worth possibly getting scared again.
Last Friday they had trick or treating in Ryan's office. This year Ryan didn't dress up. Instead he made his work area into a hobo living space and was "Occupy Scentsy". This was great trick or treating practice for Graham. He would just say "Candy!" really loud, as if he were saying "Cheese" for a picture.
We love Halloween! Here is to hoping I don't eat all the candy tonight.

Graham and Ryan make a mean pizza twist

On Graham's Birthday he had a pretty terrible cough so he didn't get to go to church. But he still had a great time helping his dad make pizza twists. I figured as long as the pizza twists were staying in the family I'd let him bake while he was a little under the weather. Hence, we all got sick. But alas, he loved it.

A party for Graham

On Sunday Graham turned 3. He has been talking about an orange basketball cake that is pink inside for over a month now. So finally it was time to put this dream into action. Graham loves to help!

Strawberry cake mix, check.
Egg cracker, check.

Two pink cakes and a beater licker, check.

The finished product.

We celebrated Graham's birthday on Friday when we babysat all his cousins. He was very excited to have them there. He was especially excited when they sang to him. I can't get the video to load but it was super cute.

Pumpkin picking

We took Graham and Penny to a farm to get pumpkins over the weekend. We love this farm because they have tons of funny pumpkins and gourds, they are already picked and they are super cheap. Plus, the people are really nice, they gave Graham a honey stick on the house. We ended up with a big pumpkin, 3 small pumpkins and 3 gourd-like things.

Penny is 6 months old

Penny is 6 months old! This is going too fast. Pretty soon she is going to be an old lady, ok maybe not pretty soon. Here are her 6 month stats : 12lbs 15 oz (3.2%) 25 inches long (13.75%). She can almost sit but is still pretty wobbly. Her hair has gotten lighter, thinner and longer. She loves eating real food at the table with the family. She loves watching Graham and Lars play. And I can just tell she is going to be funny, like even more of a goofball than her brother. We love our little Penny girl.

This face just makes me melt.
Nothing like a zebra romper to make you smile big.

Spare Time

This is what the Smiths have been up to since the end of July. People always ask, "So what have you been up to?" I never know how to respond. Do I dive into a conversation about Stayweirdboise.com? Or do I just say "oh, you know, the usual." (And by usual I mean crocheting my fingers off every night.) We have had such a fun time doing all of these little projects the last few months. The piano is now back in our garage for the winter (and dirty as heck, I thought I would want it in my front room when we got it back but no sir, to the garage it went).

Our first Stayweirdboise bike.
Our Stayweirdboise trike. I like to think of this as our Olympic trike. I did this one in a week while watching the Olympics, it was a very patriotic time for me.
The infamous Stayweirdboise Public Piano.
The Stayweirdboise Public Checkers table.
Graham getting his checkers on.
Soon to hit the streets on game day, Stayweirdboise Rocking horse "Bronco". He is nearly finished, we just need to add signs and fix up his hair a little.
And this is what the Smith family does in their spare time.

Happy Birthday Jandi!

Happy Birthday Jandi! If I can be 19 weeks pregnant with my 3rd babe on my 30th and look this good than I know I'm living right. We love you Jandi!
